The hospital, situated at 115 Mill strict, Belmont, is approved by the Harvard Medical School. The hospital has a special program for the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction named The McLean Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Program (ADAPT). Before treatment the hospital approaches each patient personally and tries to find out their present situation and provide treatment according to that. If a patient is diagnosed with any mental problems and/or drug dependence, they are provided special treatment to wipe out all their problems. The special program includes their treatment in assistance with expertise professionals in this field.The above program tries to keep the patients away from drug abuse and to teach them how to manage stress, tension and social problems which are the main cause of alcohol and drug abuse. The ADAPT program provides 3 types of facility to addiction patients depending on the extent of severity of the patients. These programs include outpatient services, partial hospitalization and short-term acute inpatient treatment. In out patient service program, the patients are provided consultation and evaluation by expert professionals, personalized pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and family therapy.
Partial hospitalization is exclusively designed for patients who require intensive treatment without any inpatient care. The patients under the partial hospitalization program receive treatment during day or evening time spending their nights at home or in the residential program on the McLean ground. Inpatient acute care is for patient of 18 year old or above, who require secure and intensive care to wipe out the drug dependence absolutely. The above program also carries out clinical research program with an ambition of increasing the quality of treatment methods for patients with alcohol and drug addiction.
